What to Bring

Good quality hiking shoes are your best friend for a late winter hike!

We’ll cross a small babbling brook a few times, which might not be so cute in case of mild and rainy weather. The road could be muddy, so hiking poles might come in handy.

09:46 / 0 km – Start hiking (120 m) on Z trail heading north

10:00 / 0.6 km – Kilátóhegy (183 m) – Enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. Below, we can see the houses of Csór, with the Sárrét stretching beyond them.

11:15 / 3.9 km – Száraz-horog – Turning left onto P trail towards Baglyas Hill

12:00 / 6.0 km – Túró-horog – Colorful forest section

12:45 / 8.2 km – Baglyas-hegy (359 m) – Panoramic viewpoint offering a stunning view of the Mezőföld plains, the Sárrét Protected Area, the Inota aluminum plant, and, on clear days, even a glimpse of Lake Balaton.

13:30 / 10.6 km – P▲ Hideg-völgyi kilátópont – Scenic lookout point (20-minute break), then returning on P trail

15:00 / 14.3 km – Várpalota – Inota – Lunch break (1 hour) at a burger place

16:00 – Heading towards Várpalota Railway Station via Radnóti and Arany János streets and the Obelisk

17:00 / 18.7 km – Arriving at Várpalota Train Station

Trains depart every hour at ‘24 back to Budapest.
