Hello Hikers! 👋🥾

​At the start of the summer heat, we are inviting you to our first BAIS boat trip to Lake Tisza! ☀️🛶 We will visit the western basin of the lake, roam the endless channels, and discover its unique wildlife. 🦅🌿

​Tisza-tó, the second-largest Hungarian lake, is situated in the northeastern part of Hungary, between Eger and Debrecen, at the edge of the famous Hortobágy National Park. 🏞️ It was created after 1973 as a result of the construction of a hydroelectric station, and since then, it has become a popular tourist destination as well as a wildlife sanctuary. 🐟

​Our 5-hour-long canoe trip will start from the Madárpart tourist center in Poroszló and will guide us through the narrow channels and swamp labyrinths of the lake, passing by some scenic islands and lookout towers along the way. 🗺️👀

​After the trip, we’ll have some time to rest, relax on the sandy beach, and enjoy a fine meal in the center of the village. 🏖️🍽️

​Length of the boat trip: 14 km 📏
​Duration of the trip: Approx. 5 hours ⏱️
​Difficulty: This trip is doable for everyone but requires some basic stamina. The route lacks shaded areas, so bring your hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water bottle! 🧢🕶️🧴💧

​11:00 – Embarking on the boats at the Madárpart Sport Center 🛶

​16:30 – Arriving back at Madárpart, resting, and dining 🍲
​18:40 – Taking the train from Poroszló to Budapest 🚆
​21:00 – Arrival back at Budapest Keleti 🏁
