To celebrate the impending spring, we have prepared a special hike for you for the Hungarian national holiday to the wine region of Mór! 🇭🇺🌸

🏰 Exploring Mór and the Vértes Hills

Mór is primarily famous for its white wines, especially the variety called ‘Ezerjó’. However, there is much more to see, as the small town is nestled just underneath the steep hills of Vértes, which is dotted with plenty of natural and medieval sights, ruins, and castles. 🏰✨

The area is traditionally inhabited by the German minority who were famous for their versatile craftsmanship, it’s no wonder that one of the natives received a Nobel Prize in Physics just last year! 🎓⚛️

🗺️ The Route

On our one-day hike, we will:

  • Climb up to the fortress of Csókakő for a stunning view of the diverse landscape. 🏔️

  • Continue through the forests of Vértes along scenic ridges and cliffs. 🌲

  • Descend to the center of Mór to visit the fabulous Baroque Lamberg Palace. 🏛️

  • Learn about the famous local wine culture! 🍷

  • Difficulty: Beginner level, this hike is doable for everyone with basic fitness! 💪
