It might still raining a bit outside, but we all know that the real summer is only weeks if not days away! To enjoy the full beauty of the blossoming early summer, we invite you to Tihany, the capital of lavender and the very best of all Balaton beaches, Sajkod!

Tihany is best known for its thousand-years old monastery, diverse landscape dotted with tiny lakes and volcanic domes, and of course the famous lavender fields and all the goods made from it.

At the end of the hike we are also visiting the hidden gem of the Tihany penninsula, the Sajkod beach known for its crystal clear water and eye-pleasing natural environment!

-Distance: 14 km

-Duration: 5 hours

-Elevation gain: 200 m

-Extinct volcanoes and even crater lakes

-Breath-taking views at Lake Balaton

-Lavender Festival vibes and harvesting your own bouquet

Schedule:
8:50 – Meeting at Budapest-Kelenföld Train Station (upstairs, next to the escalator, 10 meters from Pizza King, on Etele tér)
9:12 – 11:07 – Train travel to Aszófő
11:15 – 14:30 – Hike to Tihany oldtown
14:30 – 15:30 – Lunch time – traditional Hungarian “lángos” or bring/buy your own ( you can find plenty of vegan and gluten-free restaurants in Tihany).
15:30 – 17:00 – Hike time mixed with some lavender harvesting on the way to the beach
17:00 – 20:00 – beach time in Sajkod (watersports, food, drink, chill)
20:00 – 20:30 – walk back to Aszófő Train Station
20:48 – 22:59 – returning train to Budapest
