Usually before the big event we do a ‘trial hike’, which helps us not to get lost in the forest with 100+ people and also to evaluate the routes whether they are safe enough or we have to re-organise the hike a bit.
This time, because it is spring time the streams were flooded, it was almost impossible to get through them. We arrived to the starting point around 10 AM, but only found the only good way around 11.30 AM 😀 We were half tired even before we started to hike.
This hike’s first part is the hard bit, once we reached Dobogókő it is going to get easier 🙂 Especially after having lunch! Everything is easier after food, right?
One important thing we learnt during the trial hike is that it doesn’t matter that it hasn’t rained in the last few days, it is still super muddy as winter is just over!
We are usually choosing paths where we can take lunch in the middle. To be honest, we needed this extra motivation, because the first part of the hike was pretty hard. But having the view we saw and the food we had… it was more than worth it!
